Authors are invited to submit full papers presenting new research related to the theory or practice of mobile computing and/or wireless and mobile networking. All submissions must describe original research, not published or currently under review for another conference or journal. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Architectures, protocols, and algorithms to cope with mobility, limited bandwidth, limited power and/or intermittent connectivity
• Applications and services for mobile users
• Cyber-physical computing and networking
• Delay/disruption tolerant networks
• Fundamental understanding of mobile computing and wireless networking
• Implementations and experimental testbeds for mobile/wireless networks
• Integration and interworking of wired and wireless networks
• Modeling, measurement and simulation of mobile networks
• Mobile ad hoc and sensor networks
• Operating system and middleware support for mobile computing and networking
• Performance evaluation of mobile and wireless networks and systems
• Protocols exploiting dynamic spectrum, UWB, MIMO, directional antennas
• Resource management and quality-of-service for real-time traffic support
• Security, privacy, and fault-tolerance of mobile/wireless systems
• Wireless access technologies (e.g., mesh networks, personal area networks)

The program committee will referee all papers, and accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

We are planning to host accepted papers on a web site for pre-conference discussion.

The conference strongly encourages the submission of short papers that challenge the research community with revolutionary new approaches, technologies, or applications in the field of mobile computing and wireless networking. These "challenge papers" should provide stimulating ideas or visions that may open up exciting avenues of far-reaching future research. Descriptions of new products or simple evolution of existing work are not appropriate. While an exhaustive evaluation of the proposed ideas is not necessary for Challenges papers, insight and in-depth understanding of the issues is expected. Challenges Papers will be reviewed and should be submitted using the same submission procedure as full papers. The title of such papers must start with the word "Challenges," i.e., "Challenges: `rest of the title'."

All paper submissions will be handled electronically. Authors should prepare a Portable Document Format (PDF) version of their full paper. Papers must be no longer than 12 pages (8 pages for "Challenges" papers), in font size no smaller than 10 points, and must fit properly on US "Letter"-sized paper (8.5 W 11 inches). Margins must be of 1 inch on all edges (top, bottom, left, and right) of each page. The deadline for registering the title and the abstract of the paper with our electronic submission system is February 23, 2007, and the deadline for submitting the actual paper is March 2, 2007. All deadlines are 11:59PM PST.

All submitted papers will be judged based on their quality through double-blind reviewing, where the identities of the authors are withheld from the reviewers. Authors' names must not appear in the paper or in the PDF file. Submitted papers (or substantially similar papers) must not be currently under review for any other publication. Upon submission in EDAS, authors will be asked to indicate whether they wish an extended abstract (4 pages) of their paper to be invited to the poster session and considered for inclusion in the MobiCom Proceedings, in the event that the paper cannot be included in the main conference program.

Proposals for tutorials are solicited. Evaluation of tutorial proposals will be based on the expertise and experience of the instructors, and on the relevance of the subject matter. Potential instructors are requested to submit a tutorial proposal of at most 5 pages, including a biographical sketch, to the Tutorial Co-Chairs.

Panels are solicited that examine innovative, controversial, or otherwise provocative issues of interest. Proposals should not exceed 3 pages, including biographical sketches of the panelists. Potential panel organizers should contact the Panel Co-Chairs.

Proposals for research demos are solicited. Proposals should not exceed 3 pages and should include a description of the demo and equipment to be used. Send proposals to the Research Demo Chair.

Student posters are solicited that present recent and on-going research by students on mobile computing and mobile wireless networking. The poster submissions should include a 2-page description of the student's research. Accepted posters will be put on the conference web page; however, they will not be printed in the conference proceedings. Please send submissions to the Student Poster Chairs.

MobiCom 2007 will host the ACM Student Research Competition (SRC). Students submitting to the MobiCom 2007 Poster Program can opt to have their posters considered also by the SRC committee. Selected competitors will receive up to $500 USD for their conference travel, depending on need, and will earn a chance to compete in the SRC Grand Finals. The winners will be recognized at the Annual ACM Awards Banquet. Competitors should be prepared to attend the poster session and, if selected for further competition, give a short talk about their research projects. Winners will be announced at the conference. The Student Research Competition is open to graduate and undergraduate students whose submissions are accepted by the SRC committee. To be considered, complete a submission to the Student Poster Program and indicate that you would like to participate in the SRC. Current ACM student membership and student status as of the submission deadline are required for the lead student.

Papers with a student as a primary author will be considered for the Best Student Paper award, with an award of $1000 USD. Students must indicate with their submission that they would like to be considered for this award.

It is ACM policy (http://www.acm.org/pubs/rights.html) not to allow double submissions, where the same paper is submitted to more than one conference/journal concurrently. Any double submissions detected will be immediately rejected from all conferences/journals involved.
