Basilica di Santa Sabina A brief introduction The 5th-century Basilica di Santa Sabina is located in the Aventino (Aventine hill), South of the Circo Massimo, next to the walled park Savello planted with orange trees, from which visitors can have a stunning view of Roma. Of particular note is the carved wooden door to the far left under the 15th-century portico facing the church. Also dating from the 5th century, the door features panels depicting biblical scenes, among which the crucifixion scene is one of the oldest in existence. |
